Hiding the uneasiness in his eyes, Cyrus felt fortunate that Nathan couldn’t see his current expression.
Nathan went on asking, “But Kyson has always wanted to marry Lucinda.
Why hasn’t he taken any action?”

Just as Cyrus struggled with his response, Hilliard knocked on the door and entered.
“What’s the progress, Hilliard?” Cyrus rose and approached his brother.
“ALL his physical conditions appear normal. We can remove the stitches and take a look,” Hilliard said as he walked to the window and drew open the curtains.
As Cyrus returned to Nathan, Nathan declined, “I’ll do it myself.”
He then extended his hands and took off the bandage wrapped around his head.
Standing at the foot of the bed, Hilliard reminded, “Take it off slowly. Don’t open your eyes too quickly. Let them adjust to the light gradually.”
Nathan followed the instructions. After removing the bandage, he felt a slight tremor in his long eyelashes as he slowly opened his eyes.
He bent his head and looked at his hands. It felt as if he were enveloped in deep darkness, and only saw the outline of his hands.
